Abstract

Job satisfaction in workers emerge from the different views of each worker on various aspect of his job. One aspect of job that become a factor in the emergence of job satisfaction or not is the complaint of MSDs symptoms. Moreover, there are also other aspect that are also considered for the emergence of job satisfaction such as age, education level, gender, and job training. The aim of this study was to know the relationship between symptoms of MSDs, age, gender, education and training in work on job satisfaction. This research uses quantitative methods with a cross sectional approach and uses the Chi-Square test. The research sample amounted to 50 using a total sampling technique. This study uses the Job Description Index (JDI) research instrument to measure job satisfaction and the Nordic Body Map to measure the presence of MSDs symptom complaints. The results of the analysis show that the variable that has a relationship with job satisfaction is the level of education (p = 0.000). Whereas, age (p = 0.500), gender (p = 1,000), job training (p = 0.652) and symptoms of MSDs (p = 0.237) did not have a relationship with job satisfaction due to the lack of samples obtained by researchers as many as 43. Therefore, it is suggested that the health department can hold seminars or meetings related to insight into the work and work processes in the health department to their workers in order to increase their knowledge and skills at work so that they are able to carry out their work well and increase their job satisfaction.
