Abstract
Background : Cancer is the abnormal division of cells. One of the treatments given to cancer patients is chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is therapy by giving drugs orally or intravenously. Chemotherapy has side effects, namely hair loss, nausea, vomiting and sleep disturbances. This sleep disorder can cause a decrease in sleep quality. Where good sleep quality must be owned by cancer patients, because it is one of the supporting factors for the patient's recovery. Objective : This study aims to determine the factors that influence sleep quality in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods : The method used for this research is quantitative with cross sectional research design and analyzed using ANOVA test, independent t test and Pearson correlation. Sampling by purposive sampling method as many as 44 respondents. The instruments used are the PSQI questionnaire and the DASS 42 questionnaire. Results : It was found that depression (p value = 0.047), anxiety (p value = 0.017), stress (p value = 0.019) and pain (0.380*) can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between psychological and pain scales with sleep quality in cancer patients. On the pain scale, the relationship was moderate. For treatment, it was obtained (p value = 0.515) and physical activity (p value = 0.523), indicating that there was no relationship between treatment and physical activity with sleep quality.
