Abstract

The tourism sector is one of the many sustainable industrial sectors and can revive micro and macro economic activities in tourism areas. The tourism sector contributes greatly in improving the economy of a country both in the national and regional contexts by creating jobs that are correlated with decreasing unemployment, increasing people's income, and foreign exchange. Indonesia is a country that has very potential tourism resources, from the western end (Sabang) to the eastern end (Merauke) with all kinds of natural beauty, cultural diversity and culinary tourism that has a unique taste as a stunning attraction for tourists from all over the world. These factors are often the selling power of Indonesian tourism in the eyes of the world. The Tourism Cooperation that has taken place between Indonesia and Singapore has been going on since 1994 and the relationship is driven by geographical proximity. Singapore is Indonesia's closest neighbor, the two countries have established close, harmonious and productive relations, in the sense of helping each other both bilaterally and within the framework of regional organizations such as ASEAN. Then the collaboration was strengthened again in 2016 by increasing the scope of cooperation in the tourism sector such as cruise ship tourism, MICE, joint promotion and marketing and air transportation access to Indonesian tourist destinations. After the agreement was ratified, Indonesia is targeting 1.8 million Singaporean tourist visits. However, in realizing this target, Indonesia is faced with challenges in the form of the intensity of natural disasters that often hit the country.
