Abstract

This study aims to determine the legal protection of consumers for goods that do not match the image in the transaction in the marketplace. Marketplace is a place for online sellers. The marketplace has a good security system but there are still loopholes for cheating, one of which is by selling items that don't match the picture. This shows the weak position of consumers in buying and selling online. In this study using normative juridical research methods. The results of this study indicate that consumers have the right to obtain goods according to the image and business actors in the marketplace are responsible for these mistakes under the Consumer Protection Law. The marketplace can provide recommendations to sellers so that images of traded products can clearly reflect the item being sold and recommend providing original photos of traded goods.
