Abstract
This research aims to find out how Amoghapasa statues and inscriptions can be a cross-cultural communication medium between the Singhasari Kingdom and Malay work. The subject in this study was Javanese culture during the reign of King Kertanegara as the leader of Sinhasari kingdom at that time and the culture of Sumatra during the reign of Srimat Tribhuwanaraja Mulawarmmadewa as the leader of Dharmasraya Malay kingdom at that time. This study used a qualitative method to dig deeper research, aided by a communication ethnographic study to see the cultural capabilities of the two kingdoms' lives. The results of this research show that the Singhasari kingdom in ancient Java tried to conduct cross-cultural communication by adjusting the culture of the Malay Kingdom of Dharmasraya to be well-received in Dharmasraya Malay society. The conclusion that can be taken in this study is the importance of the selection of media and the use of the right way for cross-cultural communication to take place well between the two parties.
