Abstract
The profession of a Wedding Master of Ceremony (Wedding MC) plays an important role in the creative industry, particularly in wedding events. However, this profession is often perceived merely as an event host without understanding its responsibilities and work process. Therefore, the documentary film Wedding Master of Ceremony: The Untold Journey was created to provide a broader understanding of the Wedding MC profession from the perspective of industry practitioners. The project is also related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 1 concerning poverty eradication and Goal 8 regarding decent work and economic growth. The creation process employed pre-production, production, and post-production stages using an observational-narrative documentary approach that presents authentic experiences from the participants. As the director, the author was responsible for developing the story concept, conducting research, selecting participants, directing the filming process, and supervising the editing stage. Due to the limited number of crew members, the director also assumed the role of videographer, requiring strong time management, coordination, communication, and decision-making skills. The results demonstrate that the director plays a significant role in determining the success of the documentary by actively participating in every creative and technical aspect of the production process.
