Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of implementing the e-Tilang policy as a tool for enforcing traffic safety on political trust in the area of safety among motorists in DKI Jakarta. This study employs a quantitative method using a survey approach involving 107 respondents selected through purposive sampling, with the sample size determined based on the guidelines of Sugiyono and Roscoe (1975) and taking into account a margin of error of 5%. The theoretical framework consists of Edward III’s policy implementation theory and the theory of political trust in the field of security, which draws on Tom Tyler’s framework of procedural justice and legitimacy. Data analysis included tests of validity, reliability, normality, linearity, heteroscedasticity, simple linear regression and hypothesis testing using IBM SPSS 27. The results of the validity and reliability tests indicated that the research instruments were valid and reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.743 for variable X and 0.644 for variable Y). The data are normally distributed, the relationships between variables are linear and no heteroscedasticity was found. The regression results show a significance level of less than 0.001 with a t-statistic of 16.313, indicating that the implementation of the e-Tilang policy has a significant effect on public political trust in the area of security. The coefficient of determination of 71.7% indicates that the implementation of the e-Tilang policy explains most of the variation in political trust in the area of security among motor vehicle drivers in DKI Jakarta.
