Abstract
Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that can lead to complications such as stroke, heart disease, and kidney disorders. Limited family knowledge regarding hypertension management often results in poor implementation of healthy lifestyles and low medication adherence. This case study aimed to provide family nursing care for Mr. S with hypertension in Pancoran Mas Village, Depok City. The method used was a descriptive case study applying the family nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The interventions included health education, DASH diet education, progressive muscle relaxation therapy, vital sign monitoring, and family involvement in patient care. The results showed increased family knowledge, healthier lifestyle changes, reduced salt intake, and improved adherence to medication and health check-ups. Mr. S’s blood pressure also decreased from 151/100 mmHg to 139/87 mmHg. Therefore, DASH diet education and family support were effective in helping control hypertension.
