Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a cronic metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to the body’s inability to produce adequate amounts of insulin or due to decreased insulin effectiveness. The research method used was a descriptive method with the provision of nursing care of patients with DM type 2, and stud. The case study applied was in the form of comprehensive interviews, physical examinations, patient observation, documentation, and evaluation of baseline. Obtained from the patient`s study research showed that the main nursing problem was unstable blood glucose levels associated with insulin resistance characterized by high blood glucose levels. The main actions taken were monitoring blood sugar results, providing education healthy lifestyle health compliance, and monitoring insulin. From the research conducted on patient who suffered from DM Type 2, success was achieved due to good collaboration between nurses, doctors, the patient, and the patient’s family. It is hoped that with the nursing care provided to the patient, the patient will be able to apply and carrying out the education that has been given to patients and their familles can provide support for the patient’s recovery.
