Abstract
Background: Pregnancy and childbirth remain high-risk conditions that may threaten the safety of both mother and baby. One of the pregnancy complications that may occur is oligohydramnios, which can become an indication for sectio caesarea delivery. Sectio caesarea may cause several postoperative effects on the mother, one of which is acute pain that can interfere with the recovery process. One of the non-pharmacological managements that can be used to reduce pain is warm compress therapy. Objective: This study aimed to provide nursing care for Mrs. F (P4A0) post sectio caesarea at south Tangerang City General Hospital. Method: The research design used was a descriptive study with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, physical examination, observation, and documentation. Results: After providing nursing care for three days to Mrs. F (P4A0), three nursing diagnoses were identified, namely acute pain, ineffective breastfeeding, and risk of infection. After the nursing interventions were implemented, the patient’s pain scale decreased to scale 2, patient mobility improved, the nipples became everted, and no signs of infection were found. Conclusion: Nursing care for Mrs. F (P4A0) post sectio caesarea showed improvement in the patient’s condition after nursing interventions were provided. Two nursing diagnoses were resolved, while the acute pain diagnosis showed improvement with pain reduced to scale 2. Warm compress therapy was effective in helping reduce pain levels in the patient and can be continued independently at home. Keyword: Post Caesarean Section, Acute Pain, Warm Compress Therapy
