Abstract
Unstable Angina Pectoris (UAP) is a type of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) characterized by chest pain caused by insufficient blood flow to the heart and lack of oxygen, which can potentially lead to complications. The purpose of this scientific paper is to evaluate the nursing care process UAP patients with acute pain problems through the application of music relaxation and benson relaxation at South Tangerang City Hospital. The method used is a case study through a nursing care approach with one Unstable Angina Pectoris (UAP) subject which includes nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing intervention, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. The results of the assessment showed that the patient complained of left chest pain that radiated to the back, the pain felt like stabbing with a pain scale of 5, and was intermittent. The pain appeared during activity and improved after rest. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be done to overcome the main problem of acute pain is music relaxation and benson relaxation. Through the application of music relaxation and benson relaxation, the final evaluation results showed a decrease in pain intensity as indicated by a decrease in the pain scale from 5 to 2, decreased complaints of grimacing, decreased difficulty sleeping, and improved sleep patterns. The application of music relaxation and benson relaxation in UAP patients with the main problem of acute pain, can be one of the nursing interventions that have a good influence to help reduce pain complaints. This scientific paper is expected to be a reference material in providing nursing care to UAP patients, especially in non-pharmacological management through the application of music relaxation and benson relaxation to reduce pain.
