Abstract
Schizophrenia patients with the nursing problem of sensory perception disturbance persistent auditory hallucinations often experience interference in their daily lives. Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBIs) are a form of meditation and relaxation therapy that trains individuals to focus on the present moment without judgment, aiming to improve the subjective experience of voices in patients with psychotic disorders, including auditory hallucinations. This final nursing scientific paper aims to analyze and determine the effect of implementing Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBIs) on reducing the signs and symptoms of auditory hallucinations in patients with schizophrenia. The intervention consisted of five sessions of Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBIs), each lasting 20–30 minutes. Patients were evaluated using the Budiana Keliat questionnaire on signs and symptoms of auditory hallucination, consisting of 17 questions, and the Psychotic Symptom Rating Scales for Auditory Hallucination (PSYRATS-AH), consisting of 11 questions with a total score of 44. After the implementation of Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBIs), significant improvement was observed, indicated by a decrease in the signs and symptoms of auditory hallucinations before and after the intervention. MBIs should be integrated into psychiatric care and nursing interventions for hospitalized patients with schizophrenia who experience auditory hallucination.
