Abstract
Cesarean section (CS) is a surgical procedure that assists in the delivery of a foetus through an incision the abdominal wall and uterus, performed in medical emergencies. Pain is often experienced by mothers after cesarean section. Pain management needed to reduce intensity of pain in mothers after cesarean section. One form of pain management is foot reflexology. Foot reflexology is a therapy performed by massaging specific points on the soles of the feet, which are connected to internal organs. The aim of this project is to apply evidence-based nursing through the provision of foot reflexology in nursing care for post-cesarean section mothers to reduce pain intensity. This study involved two patients, namely managed patient who have pain with a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) of 7, and resume patient with a VAS of 6. After three days foot reflexology intervention, there was a decrease in pain intensity to mild pain with a VAS of 3 in the managed patient and a VAS of 2 in the resume patient. The conclucion that foot reflexology has an effect on reducing pain intensity in post-cesarean section mothers. This technique is recommended for use as a complementary therapy for post-cesarean section mothers experiencing pain.
