Abstract
This aims to analyze the political campaign strategy of Atalia Praratya in winning a seat in the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) in the West Java Electoral District I during the 2024 Legislative Election. The focus of the research is directed toward examining how campaign strategies were planned and implemented in response to the diverse and dynamic characteristics of urban voters. This study employs Peter Schroder’s political strategy theory as an analytical framework to examine the application of defensive strategies in maintaining the support base as well as offensive strategies in expanding vote acquisition from new voter segments. The research adopts a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with informants who were directly involved in the campaign process, supported by secondary data in the form of documentation and relevant literature. The analysis focuses on face to face campaign strategies, the utilization of social media, the construction of political image, and communication approaches tailored to the characteristics of urban voters. The findings indicate that Atalia Praratya’s success in obtaining the highest number of votes in West Java Electoral District I was closely linked to the implementation of a systematic and integrated campaign strategy. The combination of direct campaign activities through on-the-ground social interactions and digital campaigns via social media effectively expanded voter outreach while simultaneously fostering emotional closeness with the public. This strategy proved effective in reaching voters across generations and strengthening Atalia Praratya’s political image as a communicative, progressive, and socially responsive figure.
