Abstract
User habits have changed as a result of the movement in digital media content culture toward short videos. Reza Oktovian's Marathon live stream demonstrated that, in contrast to brief videos on social media, long-duration material can foster digital relationships. The parasocial interaction that Reza Oktovian's subscribers engage in via the Marapthon live stream is examined in this study. In order to describe the parasocial contact that takes place between them, this study used a descriptive qualitative method, interviewing informants based on Schramm and Hartmann's taxonomy of parasocial responses. Based on the categorization of parasocial responses, the study's findings demonstrate the existence of parasocial interaction. The cognitive reaction demonstrates that Reza is receiving particular attention, which results in a sense of intimacy and familiarity with Reza Oktovian's day-to-day activities. When viewers witness Reza's actions or experience the same feelings as Reza Oktovian as a result of their familiarity with the live stream, their affective response demonstrates the existence of emotional dynamics among subscribers. Behavioral reaction, such as comments and donations made by viewers during the Marapthon live stream, demonstrates the presence of behavioral imitation and voluntary conduct. Even though the encounter only occurs digitally, the length and interactive elements of live streaming can enhance the parasocial bond between fans and their idols, as demonstrated by the parasocial engagement between the two.
