Abstract
Background: Data from the International Labour Organization shows that Indonesian worker productivity ranks fifth among eleven ASEAN countries. Factory workers are one group with relatively high productivity, yet they are commonly exposed to monotonous work, high work speed demands, and shift systems. These conditions are psychosocial factors that may impact work productivity. Between 2020 and 2025, PT Indomas Susemi Jaya, a manufacturing company in Bekasi, conducted a significant reduction in its workforce, which potentially increased workload and job demands for remaining workers. Objective: To examine the correlation association between the psychosocial work environment and the productivity of factory workers at PT Indomas Susemi Jaya in 2025. Methods: This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design and involved 98 factory workers. The psychosocial work environment was assessed using the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire III (COPSOQ III), while work productivity was measured using a productivity questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s rho and Fisher’s Exact Test with computer software. Results: A significant correlation association was found between positive psychosocial work environment exposure and productivity of factory worker. However, no significant correlation association was observed between negative psychosocial work environment exposure and productivity.
