Abstract
The increasing number of motorcycle ownerships in Indonesia, in line with the rising rates of traffic violations and accidents, particularly in the South Jakarta area, has made this issue a serious concern in the effort to improve road safety. This study focuses on online motorcycle drivers as the research object, given the primary nature of their work, which involves operating motorcycles and spending most of their working hours on the road. This condition makes them prone to experiencing stress and anxiety due to various psychological pressures, both internal and external to their work environment. The aim of this scientific study is to analyze the influence of stress levels and anxiety on risky driving behavior, namely errors, lapses, ordinary violations, and aggressive violations, among online motorcycle drivers. A quantitative approach was employed by distributing questionnaires to 112 respondents using three standardized instruments: the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SRAS), and the Driver Behaviour Questionnaire (DBQ). Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The findings of this study indicate that anxiety has a significant influence on all forms of risky driving behavior (errors, lapses, ordinary violations, and aggressive violations). In contrast, stress did not show a significant effect on any of these behaviors. These findings highlight the importance of anxiety management in the context of safety among online motorcycle drivers and offer empirical contributions to the literature on psychological factors in driving behavior.
