Abstract

This study aims to examine the news reporting strategies employed by producers of Liputan 6 SCTV regional in Bandung, Makassar, Medan, Palembang, and Semarang in facing competition in the digital era as local television stations. The research was conducted using a qualitative method with a case study approach and the theory of editorial strategy as the analytical framework. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and observation. The results indicate that regional producers implement several strategies, including intensive communication with correspondents and production teams, selection of news topics tailored to news values and geographical conditions, rundown preparation, and creative news packaging utilizing modern visual technologies. A structured production process is key to maintaining the quality and accuracy of news reporting. This role requires producers not only to understand the concept of editorial strategy but also to adapt and innovate in facing production challenges in the digital era.
