Abstract
This study aims to examine or dismantle the representation of worker exploitation in anime One Piece Arlong Park Arc with Roland Barthes semiotic analysis. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, documentation, and literature studies. Researcher use Roland Barthes semiotic analysis to see the formation of meaning in the informational, symbolic, and third layers of meaning. The results of the study show that the serial anime One Piece Arlong Park Arc contains the meaning of the message of worker exploitation in bribery, verbal violence, gender discrimination, exploitation of minors, and worker alienation. Which reflects the conditions and lives of workers in Japan, even though Japan has become a developed country and is famous for its work culture and ethics that they uphold. Worker exploitation has existed for a long time in Japanese history and can still be found in society today.
