Abstract
Elderly is the final stage of life. As they age, the elderly will experience changes in themselves, including physical and cognitive changes. Physical changes to the brain will affect the cognitive system. Regardless of the theory of aging, the elderly can experience a rapid decline in their cognitive system until dementia occurs. Cognitive impairment can reduce the quality of life of the elderly because the elderly become dependent on others in their daily activities. Cognitive treatment of the elderly can be done in various ways, one of which is by applying Beapreation Therapy to improve the cognitive function of the elderly. This case study aims to apply Beapreation Therapy interventions followed by nursing care from the assessment stage to evaluation and determine the effectiveness of Beapreation Therapy. The cognitive function of the elderly was observed before and after the intervention using the MMSE assessment instrument. The results of nursing care showed an increase in cognitive function from mild cognitive impairment to normal after four times of therapy. Based on these results, it is hoped that this therapy can be a non-pharmacological management in improving cognitive function in the elderly with dementia.
