Abstract

This final project report reviews the implementation of accounting information systems in the employee payroll process at PT Bright Oceans Shipping, a company engaged in logistics and shipping services. The purpose of this study is to identify the parties involved in the payroll process, the types of documents used, and the stages of the procedures carried out in the system. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through direct observation, documentation, and field studies. The results of the study indicate that the payroll system implemented is still semi-manual, with the use of the Fingerspot application to record attendance and Microsoft Excel for salary calculations. This system is quite helpful, but still has weaknesses such as the potential for errors due to dependence on manual input. Some important documents used include scanning cards, daily activity reports, PPh 21 withholding evidence, and salary recaps. The payroll process also involves various parties such as the finance department, consultants, and directors who work in a coordinated manner. This study recommends that PT Bright Oceans Shipping start developing a more automated and integrated payroll system to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulations.
