Abstract

Obesity, particularly among school-aged children, has become an increasing health concern in Indonesia. An unhealthy lifestyle, such as an unbalanced diet and lack of physical activity, contributes to the rising prevalence of obesity. With the growing number of obesity cases, the role of the family is crucial in providing nursing care. One of the efforts that can be made is educating families about healthy eating habits and the importance of physical activity in preventing obesity. This study aims to report the nursing care provided to the family of Mrs. W, specifically for Child A, who is experiencing obesity in RT 006 RW 007, Limo Village, Depok City. The first identified nursing problem is obesity, related to the family's inability to recognize health issues. The second issue is ineffective family health management due to the family's inability to care for its members. The third problem is a monotonous lifestyle, which is linked to the family's inability to modify their living environment. This study uses a descriptive approach with a case study design. The research involves assessment, diagnosis determination and scoring, action planning, nursing implementation, and evaluation. To optimize the outcomes of nursing care, Mrs. W's family is expected to actively support the implementation of a healthy diet and physical activities that can help address obesity.
