Abstract
Hypertension is a problem that often attacks the elderly due to various changes in the aging process. Untreated hypertension in the elderly can cause complications such as heart disease, stroke, blood vessel damage and even death. This scientific paper was conducted with the aim of providing nursing care to Mrs. R with hypertension problems. Method: The method used in this study is a case study related to family care and focused on family members who have hypertension problems, especially Mrs. R. From the assessment, 3 diagnoses were obtained, namely risky behavior; ineffective family health management; and sleep pattern disorders. After being given nursing care, Mrs. R was able to understand how to handle hypertension problems by implementing starfruit juice consumption, hypertension exercise, and the DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) which can lower Mrs. R's blood pressure. Nursing problems in Mrs. R can be overcome through recommended care and good and appropriate family support.
