Abstract
Hypertension is a condition in which a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal. A person can be said to have increased blood pressure if systolic blood pressure ≥130 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 80mmHg. The patient criteria are elderly hypertension patients with compos mentis, with a minimum of 3 days of treatment, interventions are carried out discussing Progressive Muscle Relaxation Techniques to overcome pain. The nursing approach includes the process of examination and analysis, problem identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. The research design used by the author is descriptive research with a case study method. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, physical examination and documentation. The nursing problems found in this case were acute pain, sleep pattern disorders, and non-compliance. The plan used by the author for the client was adjusted to the nursing problems applied based on the criteria for results, signs and symptoms and the client's condition when nursing care was provided. After nursing actions were carried out for 3x24 hours, the final evaluation results, the three diagnoses the author raised had been resolved. It is hoped that further researchers can provide nursing care for hypertensive clients with acute pain problems and sleep pattern disorders properly and appropriately in order to achieve the nursing problems found in the clients.
