Abstract
This research aims to explain how the Instagram account @totalpolitik plays a role as an agent of political socialization in increasing the political participation of generation z. The theory used in this research is the Political Socialization Process Model theory. This study uses a qualitative approach with a netnographic research type, focusing on content analysis and interactions that occur on the Instagram platform @totalpolitik, especially through the feed, comments column and share. The data collection techniques used are netnographic observation, interviews and documentation studies. The result of this study is that @totalpolitik as a socialization agent based on the Process Model theory of political socialization flow, namely socio-structural, communication political, attitude and cognitive, and political participation increase a significant role in increasing the political participation of generation z. This can be seen from @totalpolitik providing interactive content that encourages generation z to provide political views or opinions through the comments column on the issues discussed, then @totalpolitik also invites political figures to provide insights from different perspectives and will increase the political knowledge of generation z. Finally, generation z can easily find out political information and strengthen their political beliefs about their partners and motivate them to use their voting rights in the 2024 Presidential Election. Through this, the types of political participation of generation z formed in the Process Model are political discussions, online participation and direct political participation. The impact of the @totalpolitik Instagram account on the political participation of generation z is to provide political education in an interactive manner, increase political awareness both in social issues such as the "Makan Bergizi Gratis" policy and awareness of using the right to vote in the 2024 presidential election and open a political discussion room online so that generation z can be involved in political dialogue.
