Abstract

Emergency department nurses play a crucial role in providing fast and accurate emergency medical care. However, demanding working conditions and a high workload can lead to job stress, affecting both the physical and mental health of nurses. This study aims to describe job stress among ED nurses at Regional General Hospitals (RSUD) in Depok City. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consists of ED nurses from RSUD Khidmat Sehat Afiat Depok and RSUD Anugerah Sehat Afiat Depok, using a total sampling technique with 49 respondents. Data were collected using the Chinese Stressor Scale for Emergency Nurses, specifically designed to identify stressors among ED nurses. The results show that the majority of ED nurses were female, held a Diploma (D3) degree, were married, and had no children. The average job stress score was 60.78, with most nurses experiencing moderate stress (51%). The main stressors identified were the actions and reactions of patients' families, as well as formal and technical support. Programs to address job stress are necessary, and this study is expected to serve as a reference for hospital policy development to support nurses' well-being.
