Abstract
Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in Depok has been increasing consecutively for the past four years. One of the action that can be made to reduce IMR is exclusive breastfeeding. Exclusive breastfeeding is expected to increase along with the increase in knowledge and attitude towards exclusive breastfeeding. Knowledge and attitude are expected to be influenced through health promotion and education.. Video was chosen due to its advantages in terms of ease and effectiveness as a learning medium. Mampang, one of the sub-districts in Depok, was chosen due to a higher number of IMR and stunting cases compared to most other sub-districts in Depok. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design on one paired group. The research sample consisted of 32 breastfeeding mothers who were selected through purposive sampling. Statistical analysis using the McNemar test showed a significant increase of breastfeeding mothers' knowledge after following video-based counseling, with a p-value of 0.003 (p-value <0.05). The results also concluded that there was no significant influence of counseling and education using video media on mothers' attitudes with a p-value of 0.070 (p-value > 0.05). Nevertheless, 75% of respondents (n=24) have good attitude after intervention using video media.
