Abstract
The use of social media carries risks such as sexual harassment and other dangers that impact victims, as stated in a documentary entitled "The Cyber Hell: Exposing An Internet Horror". This research aims to determine the threats and risks that arise from the use of social media, ranging from misuse of personal information to cyber crime. Representations regarding the use of social media from the reality level, representation level, and ideology level. This research uses a constructivist paradigm, with the approach used is descriptive qualitative, as well as John Fiske's semiotic analysis method. The objects analyzed in this research consist of 15 scenes that represent danger on social media. The research results show that the film The Cyber Hell: Exposing An Internet Horror represents the dangers of using social media, which is explained by victims whose privacy is violated and their digital security is threatened. This film provides an overview of the importance of digital security awareness in social media. It was also found that the root of the dangers of using social media is that it is vulnerable to crime in the digital world. Due to lack of awareness and understanding of digital security practices.
