Abstract
This study uses Roland Barthes' approach to conduct a semiotic analysis of Kaesang Pangarep's political billboards. The research identifies the denotation, connotation, and myths in the billboard's elements. The methodology includes visual and textual analysis of the billboards, utilizing Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and in-depth interviews. Gen Z participants are involved in the FGDs to gain insights from the younger generation. At the same time, interviews are conducted with political billboard media experts and PSI representatives to validate the data. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the responses, interpretations, and thoughts that may vary among participants of different age groups. The findings indicate that the billboards effectively convey the intended message, despite some indications of ambiguity. While most of the signs on the billboards have clear meanings aligned with the campaign's goals, some visual elements serve merely as supporting features without specific meanings or myth-building purposes.
