Abstract
This research aims to describe Indonesia's tourism diplomacy efforts in increasing tourists from Malaysia through Wonderful Indonesia throughout 2019-2022. Malaysia was the country that contributed the most foreign tourists to Indonesia in 2019, but in 2020-2021 it experienced a decline. The decline that occurred in 2020-2021 was caused by Covid-19, which had an impact on the arrival of Malaysian tourists to Indonesia. However, in 2022 the number of Malaysian tourist arrivals will increase again. Therefore, this research raises the research question "How does Indonesian Tourism Diplomacy increase the number of visits by foreign tourists from Malaysia through Wonderful Indonesia throughout 2019-2022?" In answering research questions, the author uses a tourism diplomacy conceptual framework taken from the Multi-track Diplomacy concept with track one instruments, namely the Government. Indonesian tourism diplomacy carried out by the government is carried out through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia by involving Wonderful Indonesia as the tagline for promoting Indonesian tourism, Indonesian tourism industry business actors, and the GenWI community as non-state actors who are the main promoters who support the Ministry of Tourism in promoting Indonesian tourism in Malaysia. The results of this research show that tourism diplomacy efforts carried out by state actors supported by non-state actors through Wonderful Indonesia have proven capable of increasing the number of visits by foreign tourists from Malaysia to Indonesia.
