Abstract
Children aged 6–23 months generally start receiving complementary foods with breast milk to meet the child's nutritional needs in an effort to support their growth and development process. During this transition period, children are expected to be able to adapt to the process of introducing food so that nutritional fulfillment can be achieved. Providing sensory skills training regarding various textures and types of food can help children adapt and increase their acceptance of food so that the child's weight can increase. This study aims to determine the effect of introducing food-based sensory activities on children's weight gain. The method in this research was quasi-experimental with a pre-posttest control group design in which treatment was only given to the intervention group while the control group received no treatment. The results showed that the intervention carried out had a significant effect on increasing children's weight, with a significance value of <0.05, namely 0.000. In this way, providing food-based sensory activities has a positive influence on increasing food acceptance, which influences the increase in children's weight.
