Abstract
Occupational stress is a psychological pressure related to work conditions. Psychosocial and demographic determinants may be the influence. Lecturers are white collar workers who have the opportunity to experience occupational stress. The aim of this study is to determine the factors that influence occupational stress among lecturers in X University. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional study design. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling. The number of samples used was 132 respondents. The study was conducted in April-June 2024. The Cox Regression Model was used to analyze. The instruments used were The Workplace Stress Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, General Self-Efficacy Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale, the Brief COPE dan Rating Scale Mental Effort Scale. This research found 84.1% of lecturers experienced work stress with an average score of 19.11. All psychosocial determinant variables are related to work stress. There is no relationship between demographic determinants and work stress. Factors that influence work stress are self-ability (PR= 0.87), loneliness (PR= 0.94), and mental workload (PR= 0.34). The conclusion obtained is that work stress is relatively light with factors such as self-efficacy, loneliness, and mental workload which protect the occurrence of work stress in lecturers.
