Abstract
In an effort to reduce pain scale that occurred to post surgical patient, pharmacological management are taken with all consideration of the side effects. Thus, due to reducing the side effects of drug use, required a non pharmacological management such as Swedish Massage. The aim of this study is to determine whether or not there was an effect of swedish massage on post surgery pain level in surgical inpatient care room. The research design used in this study was a quasy experimental one group pre and posttest on 35 post surgical patient with purposive sampling. The instruments used included the demographic data questionnaire and a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) using Wilcoxon Test. The results of this study indicated that there was a significant effect of swedish massage intervention on reducing post post surgery pain levels of 0.000 (p < 0.05).
