Abstract

This research examines the importance of social media management in communication strategies to increase engagement on Instagram @sports.indosiar. This research focuses on the importance of using Instagram social media as a communication strategy to increase engagement. Previous researchers agree that the use of social media as a means of communication strategy is very effective at this time. Researchers assume that in order to increase the number of viewers, an appropriate platform is needed and one that is most popular with the public, such as social media Instagram. Social media such as Instagram is a very important tool for companies and content creators to promote and introduce the products or services they offer. The method used in this research uses a case study. This research resulted in the social media team @sports.indosiar developing a communication strategy carefully and in detail. Researchers use the POAC approach (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) and based on this approach, the @sports.indosiar social media team has implemented a way to develop a communication strategy based on POAC, and answered the formulation of this research problem that they already know how to develop a communication strategy in the media good Instagram social. Thus, it can be concluded from the results of this research that the sports program communication strategy carried out by PT. Surya Citra Media includes various stages, namely planning, organizing, actuating and controlling, making the account humanistic, adjusting the form of content, language style, form of campaign according to the existing target audience. This can be proven by the increase in the number of followers on Instagram @sports.indosiar as well as the busy discussion about football matches broadcast on the Indosiar television station.
