Abstract
The fast advancement of technology has resulted in various transformations in every facet of human existence. The growing popularity of social media platforms, especially Twitter, which has become a medium for user-to-user conversation and information sharing, is one effect of technology development. A new phenomenon that many individuals are experiencing has been brought about by the emergence of social media. The fear of missing out on moments, or FoMO, is this phenomena. FoMO is known to be a common occurrence among members of the Gen-Z demographic. This problem also affects K-Pop enthusiasts, who create discussion boards or autobase accounts as a result. @caratstalk is one such K-Pop autobase account that talks about stuff about the boy band SEVENTEEN such as the release of a new album, merchandise, and their concerts. This study analyses people's experiences with a phenomenon using a qualitative methodology and a phenomenological approach. Interviews with five (5) SEVENTEEN Gen-Z fans and one (1) expert informant were used to collect data. The findings of this study show that buying merchandise, watching and purchasing digital content, attending SEVENTEEN-related events like concerts or fan gatherings, and forming idol-like behaviors are among the ways that Gen-Z fans of the boy group SEVENTEEN, also known as CARATS, who follow the @caratstalk autobase account.
