Abstract
World Health Organization (WHO) states that 46% of adults with hypertension are not aware that they have this condition, and less than half of adults (42%) with hypertension are diagnosed and treated. Only about 1 in 5 adults (21%) with hypertension can control their blood pressure. Hypertension is the main cause of death worldwide. This is the basis for WHO setting one of the global targets for non-communicable diseases to reduce the prevalence of hypertension by 33% between 2010 and 2030. This scientific paper is intended to obtain an overview of the application of nursing care to hypertensive clients with impaired needs for security, comfort and rest. sleep, through a nursing approach process which includes the process of examination and analysis, problem solving, planning, implementation and evaluation. Method: The research design used by the author is descriptive research with a case study method. Data collection was carried out by means of interviews, observation, physical examination and documentation. The nursing problems found in this case were acute pain, disturbed sleep patterns, and non-compliance. The plan used by the author for clients is adjusted to the nursing problem applied based on outcome criteria, signs and symptoms and the client's condition at the time nursing care is provided. After carrying out nursing actions for 3x24 hours, the results of the final evaluation, two of the three diagnoses the author adopted had been resolved. It is hoped that future researchers will be able to carry out nursing care for hypertensive clients with acute pain problems and disturbed sleep patterns properly and appropriately so that it can be achieved in accordance with the nursing problems found in clients
