Abstract

Transportation needs in urban areas are one of the most important things to support the accessibility needs of the community. A high level of accessibility is intended to support people to increase their productivity. In addition, safety and health factors at work also need to be considered to maintain this level of productivity. As a result of the increasing number of people who need transportation, this will be directly proportional to the risk of accidents that will be caused. There are 3 common factors that cause accidents, namely fear, anxiety, and anger. These factors will affect a person's driving style and habits. Therefore, to measure and determine a person's driving style and safe driving habits, the Multidimensional Driving Style Inventory (MDSI) and Driving Behaviour Questionnaire (DBQ) methods are used. In addition, other variables were also used as the objectives of this study, namely the variables of traffic violations and traffic accidents. In processing the data that has been obtained, the author uses the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the AMOS application to determine the relationship of each variable used. The results of this study indicate that there is no relationship between driving habits (P-value = 0.131 > 0.05) and driving style (P-value = 0.743 > 0.05) with traffic violations and there is also no relationship between driving habits (P-value = 0.232 > 0.05) and driving style (P-value = 0.553 > 0.05) with traffic accidents. Only the variables of traffic violations and traffic accidents have a strong relationship of 11.368 and a P-value < 0.000. Thus, it can be concluded that the more often a driver commits a traffic violation, the more likely the driver will have a traffic accident.
