Abstract
Stress is the body's response to challenges, and medical students experience higher stress levels compared to students in other disciplines. Several factors contribute to the escalation of stress. The purpose of this research is to examine the factors associated with stress levels among medical students at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. The study adopts an observational analytical approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 310 students meeting the inclusion criteria were sampled using proportionate stratified random sampling. Stress levels were assessed using the Medical Student Stressor Questionnaire (MSSQ), and data were analyzed using ordinal logistic regression. Bivariate analysis revealed an increase in stress levels among medical students from the academic years 2022 and 2023 (p-value = 0.025) and those not participating in extracurricular activities (p-value = 0.031). Multivariate analysis indicated that medical students from the academic year 2021 are 0.300 times more likely to experience severe stress compared to other academic years. In conclusion, the academic year is identified as the dominant factor influencing stress levels among medical students at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta.
