Abstract

The potential for natural resources and human resources in Indonesia is very abundant, which should be able to increase the number of employment opportunities, but there is still a decline in the level of employment opportunities which can be influenced by various factors. The aim of this research is to see the influence of provincial minimum wage variables, education level, foreign investment and economic growth on the level of employment opportunities in five provinces in Indonesia, namely DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Riau Islands and Maluku. The samples used were 5 provinces with a 10 year period, namely 2012-2021, so there were 50 sample data used. This research uses secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency website. This research uses panel data analysis using the Eviews12 program using a significance level of 5%. The partial research results show that the provincial minimum wage and foreign investment do not have a significant effect on the level of employment opportunities. On the other hand, the level of education and economic growth have a significant positive effect on the level of employment opportunities.
