Abstract
Technological developments bring humans to significant changes in receiving and sending information. This change coincides with the change in society's main source of information from conventional media to online media. Online media is currently the main source for people looking for information. This research aims to determine CNN Indonesia's objectivity in presenting news during the 2024 presidential candidacy period, which will be held on October 19th – 25th, 2023, using the dimensions of objectivity contained in Westerstahl's Objectivity Theory. The method used in this research is quantitative content analysis with a descriptive approach to determine aspects of news objectivity on CNN Indonesia, which include factuality and impartiality. Factuality includes the sub-dimensions of truth, relevance, and informativeness. Impartiality includes the sub-dimensions of balance and neutral. The results show that in the factuality dimension, CNN Indonesia has presented news based on facts that occurred by citing appropriate sources, accompanied by accuracy, completeness, relevance, and informative. Meanwhile, in the dimension of impartiality, CNN Indonesia does not convey news in a balanced manner, with the delivery of opposing perspectives at 46.44% and news that includes two sides at 33.05%.
