Abstract
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. The impact of this condition includes fluid that gets trapped and collects in the lungs, liver, around the eyes, and sometimes in the lower extremities. This is what is called "congestion". One of the symptoms experienced by patients with congestive heart failure is dyspnea. Dyspnea felt by the patient will cause a feeling of drowning or choking to death and cause anxiety. The purpose of providing this innovative intervention is to determine whether breathing training can reduce dyspnea and anxiety in congestive heart failure patients in the emergency department. The dyspnea instrument used to evaluate is the Dyspnea Visual Analog Scale (DVAS). While the anxiety instrument uses the Anxiety Visual Analog Scale (AVAS). The final results obtained after administering the innovative breathung training intervention for 20 minutes were that the dyspnea score in congestive heart failure patients decreased by 25 points and in anxiety decreased by 23 points. Based on these results it can be concluded that breathing training can reduce dyspnea and anxiety in patients with congestive heart failure.
