Abstract
ABSTRACT This thesis discusses "Indonesian Cultural Diplomacy through the Indonesian Cultural House (RBI) in Germany 2017-2019". In the current modern era, culture can be used as an instrument of diplomacy. Cultural diplomacy can be carried out by non-state actors so that its implementation can run effectively. Through culture, it will increase mutual understanding between the people of Indonesia and Germany, because through culture all activities are carried out through people to people contact so that information and cultural values can be easily accepted. Cultural diplomacy is carried out to achieve the national interest of a country. Indonesia carries out cultural diplomacy, one of which uses the Indonesian Cultural House (RBI), which is a forum for foreign citizens to know Indonesian culture. RBI was created by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. This thesis raises the research question "How is Indonesian Cultural Diplomacy in Germany through the Indonesian Cultural House in 2017-2019?" To answer this research, the researcher uses the theories and concepts: Diplomacy of Culture and National Interest. The method in this study used a descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study are that through the activities held by RBI in Germany for the 2017-2019 period, several Indonesian national interests have been achieved.
