Abstract

Postpartum blues and postpartum depression are mood disorders that can cause mild depression if not treated. The cause of this is due to psychological changes in the mother that cause anxiety and stress related to young age, a history of depression or previous baby blues. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a significant change in maternal knowledge about postpartum blues and postpartum depression. The research design used was a quasi- experimental one group pre-test and post-test with 33 research respondents using a total sampling technique. test results Mc. Nemar has a significant effect on mother's knowledge about postpartum blues and postpartum depression at RSUP Dr. Sitanala Tangerang (p value = 0.022). This application can be used as a medium for implementing health education and counseling for the community.
