Abstract
Health literacy has been recognized as a key factor in improving health. The Indonesian government is currently stepping up efforts for Health literacy. One disease that requires good literacy is chronic low back pain (CLBP). This study is intended to see the relationship between the level of health literacy with the perception of pain in chronic low back pain patients. This research is a comparative study using analytic observational analysis approach with cross-sectional design. The sample of this study is people in Jakarta with chronic low back pain who meet the inclusion criteria. Retrieval of data using online questionnaires (Google Forms) with univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis with SPSS version 22 statistical processing applications using the chi-square test (p-value 0.05). Of the 74 respondents there were 52 respondents (70.3%) who had high levels of health literacy, and 52 respondents (70.3%) had mild pain perception. 22 respondents (29.7%) had low health literacy levels and 22 respondents (29.7%) had moderate pain perception. Statistically, there is no significant relationship between the level of health literacy and pain perception. However, a low health literacy level increases the risk of moderate pain perception by 2.3 times compared to a high health literacy level.
