Abstract
This research discusses the role of Huawei and China's security strategy to face global cyber security challenges. Global cyber security challenges are experiencing rapid development in line with technological advances. Cyber threats such as cyber-crime, cyber espionage, hacktivist, cyber terrorism, malware and even the cyber war. The state must prepare and strengthen cyber security and defense for risk management of global cyber threats. China applies Comprehensive National Power (CNP) and Comprehensive National Security Outlook (CNSO) as national security strategies. China built cooperation or cyber alliance with Russia in the Open Ended Working Group (OEWG) at the Shanghai Corporation Organization (SCO). China also uses its national power represented by Huawei as a step to create national security in response to global cyber security challenges. Huawei carries out research and development that results in Huawei's Cyber Security White Paper every year since 2012. Huawei's cyber security white paper assists China in facing global cyber security challenges. Huawei has contributed to China's cyber security through collaboration that has been established with relevant institutions responsible for the country's cyber security. In addition, Huawei also supports China in supporting China's national interests to become a global high-tech superpower by 2025 with innovation and technological capabilities and Huawei's network that has spread across 170 countries. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. The author conducted interviews and literature studies namely data collection from books, articles, journals and the internet. The final results of this paper would like to show that as one of China's national powers, Huawei has an important role in supporting China's security strategy in an effort to face global cyber security challenges.
