Abstract
The cognitive dissonance that emerged in response to HYBE Divest from Zionism Movement on X is a contemporary phenomenon where users experience discomfort in their fangirling space. This research proposal aims to analyze the cognitive dissonance of HYBE Divest from Zionism Movement that initiated by @ARMY4Palestine on X which also spread by pro-Palestinian ARMY. This movement was motivated by the presence of a Zionist named Scooter Braun. This research method use Descriptive Qualitative with Netnography methodology and case study approach. Data was collected through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with several related sources. The analysis technique of this research use thematic analysis. The results of this research reveals that the HYBE Divestment from Zionism movement triggered cognitive dissonance within the fandom, manifested through polarized opinions, the justification of cyberbullying, selective exposure to information, and post-purchase moral conflict. Furthermore, the research identifies the roles of collective identity, fandom ego, and indications of Islamophobia in intensifying internal conflicts among fans. Ultimately, the movement underscores that fandom practices are inseparable from socio-political realities, as fans actively negotiate their loyalty to idols alongside their commitment to humanitarian values.
