Abstract
The high number of Tangerang LIVE application downloads, which is not proportional to the number of verified users, indicates users’ hesitation in submitting personal information during the account verification process. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing users’ intention to verify their accounts using the Unified Model of Electronic Government Adoption (UMEGA), with Attitude as a mediating variable and Electronic Word of Mouth (eWOM) as a moderating variable. This study employed an explanatory quantitative approach through a questionnaire survey involving 270 users of the Tangerang LIVE application selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results show that Performance Expectancy and Effort Expectancy have significant positive effects on Attitude, while Perceived Risk has a significant negative effect. In contrast, Social Influence does not significantly affect Attitude, and Facilitating Conditions do not significantly affect Verification Intention. Furthermore, Attitude has a significant positive effect on Verification Intention. The findings also reveal that eWOM significantly moderates and weakens the relationship between Attitude and Verification Intention. This indicates that negative online information or reviews may reduce users’ intention to verify their accounts despite their positive attitude toward the application. This study extends the application of UMEGA in the context of account verification and provides practical implications for improving the adoption of local government digital services.
