Abstract

Inventory control of fast-moving products in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises is generally performed manually, resulting in discrepancies between recorded inventory data and actual stock conditions. This study aims to design an inventory control system that utilizes actual stock data obtained through object detection, develop a structured stock data processing mechanism, and analyze the system's capability to support reorder decision-making. The proposed system employs the YOLOv8n algorithm to detect chocolate and cheese brownie products from images captured using a laptop camera. The detection results are integrated into Google Sheets as an Inventory Log and Dashboard, which serve as the basis for Reorder Point calculation. The model was trained using 312 annotated images and achieved a precision of 0.98, a recall of 1.00, an mAP@50 of 0.99, and an mAP@50–95 of 0.99. Experimental results demonstrate that the system accurately detects objects under various conditions while automatically updating inventory data. Furthermore, the system provides inventory status and reorder recommendations based on the calculated ROP. Therefore, the proposed system can support inventory control of fast-moving products in MSMEs more accurately, systematically, and based on actual inventory data.
