Abstract
Makanan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) Program is an Indonesian government initiative that provides nutritionally balanced meals to elementary school children to improve nutritional status and support healthy dietary habits. The primary goal of this research was to assess variations in nutritional metrics and dietary quality between children who received MBG and those who did not in Jakarta. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 105 children aged 9–12 years from SD Negeri Malaka Sari 04 and SDIT AR-RIDHO using stratified random sampling and comparative statistical analysis. Univariate analysis revealed that the prevalence of normal nutritional status was 60% among students at SD Negeri Malaka Sari 04, which implemented the MBG program, compared with 50,5% among students at SDIT AR-RIDHO, which did not implement the program. Furthermore, the mean dietary quality scores were 62,35% and 62,86% for SD Negeri Malaka Sari 04 and SDIT AR-RIDHO, respectively. However, the bivariate analysis found no significant differences in nutritional status or dietary quality between children attending schools with and without the MBG program (p= 0,128; p= 0,272).
