Abstract

This study aims to improve operational management efficiency at PT ASI by analyzing the inventory control of key raw materials, namely Ceramic Powder Type A, Resin Composite Mix, and PVC Sheets 3mm. The primary issue identified is a drastic overstock situation, where by 2024, the total ending inventory reached 106,995 kg with a value exceeding IDR 9.1 billion due to subjective ordering policies. Utilizing a descriptive quantitative approach with the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method and Just In Time (JIT) evaluation for the 2022–2024 period, the results demonstrate that implementing EOQ significantly enhances cost efficiency, achieving Total Inventory Cost (TIC) savings between 20.58% and 41.67%. The transformation of ordering patterns through this method successfully reduced overstock levels by more than 91% across the three main raw materials and released IDR 3,389,010,000 in working capital previously tied up in excess inventory. The study concludes that the integration of the EOQ method, along with accurate Safety Stock and Reorder Point determinations, is crucial for PT ASI to ensure timely raw material availability while minimizing operational waste.
